Is Your Water Alkaline?
Our wilderness water is naturally alkaline with a pH of 8 due to the natural mineral content. Minerals such as Calcium, Magnesium, and Potassium are all present in our spring water, making it more alkaline
Where Does The Water Come From?
Our water comes from Coldwater Ontario. The water is taken from an underground spring and is brought to our warehouse for ozonation and bottling.
Why Spring Water?
Spring water has been a long time favorite in the bottled water industry. While Reverse Osmosis and Distilled water are good for you, spring water contains minerals such as calcium and magnesium that will help your immune system. Spring water also helps the human digestive system. Spring water is naturally found in the environment unlike reverse osmosis and distilled water. Spring water has a distinct taste that has gained increasing popularity over the years.
Is Glass Better Than Plastic?
Glass bottles will have less of an environmental impact as they do not need to be recycled unless the bottle is damaged. The water that we bottle is the exact same in both glass and plastic; the only difference is the vessel/container.
Are Plastic Bottles Safe?
Our polycarbonate (#7 plastic) bottles are deemed safe by Health Canada, and have a life cycle of 5 years before being recycled. Our water is bottled and delivered shortly after it has been taken from the spring. This reduces the contact time between the bottle and the water. We also never boil the bottles, which is in accordance with proper handling of polycarbonate bottles.
Why Are Glass Bottles More Expensive Than Plastic?
Our glass bottles are imported from Italy and are much more labour intensive than our plastic bottles. Our production line can only run at half of the speed, and need twice the amount of labour in order to bottle in glass.
What Are Bottle Deposits?
On the first delivery a $10 deposit is required on each plastic and glass bottle. The bottle deposits carry over, on each delivery, as long as you return an equivalent number of empties. If you choose to cancel your account with us, once the empties are picked up, we will refund your bottle deposit back to you.
Do I Own The Glass Bottles?
The glass bottles come from Italy and the deposit does not cover the full value of the bottle itself. If you wish to permanently keep the glass bottles it costs $40 plus tax per bottle plus the price for the water in the bottle ($15.00).
What Are My Payment Options?
We accept Visa, Visa-debit, Mastercard, Mastercard-debit, American Express, and e-transfers. Please send email transfers to: payment@bearsprings.ca and don’t forget to include your account number! Account number begins with a ‘B’ followed by a number sequence.

How Do I Replace The Empty Bottle From The Dispenser?
Remove empty bottle from cooler and inspect safe guard area for top loading dispensers, and inspect the pump for bottom loading dispenser. Clean area if necessary.
Remove the sticker(applied with food grade glue) and invert bottle, aligning cap and probe. The weight of the bottle should be enough to puncture the cap.
How Often Should I Clean The Cooler?
We recommend cleaning the cooler every 3-6 months, as necessary. A mineral buildup is normal with natural spring water therefore, it should be cleaned to remove calcium deposits.
When you are renting one of our coolers, the cleaning is complimentary once a year. Upon request, we will bring you a freshly cleaned and sanitized cooler, in exchange for your current rental cooler. Complimentary cooler exchanges are completed on your regular delivery days.
How to test for a Leaking Cooler
Ensure the spigot/faucet assembly is tight. To accomplish this turn entire faucet clockwise. Also, ensure the disc beneath the lever (tab) is also tight by turning it clockwise as well.
If your cooler does not contain a safeguard, the cause of a leaking cooler may be that the reservoir is overfilled before inverting the bottle. If so, this may cause an improper seal allowing air to enter the system resulting in leakage.
Cooler test to determine whether the cooler or the bottle is the cause of the leak
Remove the bottle from the cooler Be sure to leave a small amount of water in the reservoir at the top of the unit Do not use the cooler Visually note the water level and leave the cooler undisturbed for 30-45 minutes
If after 30 minutes the water is still contained within the reservoir, the bottle was the cause of the leak
Pour the water in the defective bottle out and using a black magic marker clearly mark the bottle with an “X” or put a crumpled up piece of scrap paper inside the bottle to ensure that it will be destroyed when returned to our plant.
Please contact our customer service department at 416-798-2327 to inform us of the defective bottle, a replacement bottle will be sent at no charge on your next schedule delivery.
How do I Adjusting the Thermostat
If you are finding the water is not as cold as you like it, or too cold, and/or has recently stopped cooling you can adjust the thermostat to correct this problem. You may also need to adjust your thermostat if you notice no flow of water through your taps. An ice block may have been created in the reservoir of the cooler.
Ideally, the easiest tool to use when adjusting the thermostat is a flat-headed screwdriver. If this tool is not available you can also use a butter knife, a letter opener, or anything resembling these items.
A metal grill will be covering the thermostat, but angling your tool will allow you to adjust the screw. Turning the centre screw of the thermostat clockwise (right) will make the water colder. Turning the screw counter-clockwise (left) will have the opposite effect, and will make the water warmer. Turning the thermostat too far to the right may result in the cooler freezing, and you will know this because there will be no water flow through your taps. Please allow thirty to forty five minutes after adjusting the thermostat for the temperature to change. If after this time has passed and there has been no change to the temperature of your water please phone our customer service department at 416-798-2327.
